Vilitra, which contains vardenafil (the same active ingredient in Levitra), is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It works by increasing blood flow to the penis, helping a man achieve and maintain an erection in response to sexual stimulation.
However, Vilitra does not affect erections during sleep. Erections during sleep, commonly known as nocturnal penile tumescence (NPT), are a normal physiological process that occurs during the rapid eye movement (REM) stage of sleep. These spontaneous erections happen in healthy men and are a sign of proper blood flow and nerve function in the penis.
Vilitra or other ED medications like sildenafil (Viagra) or tadalafil (Cialis) specifically help with Vilitra function during sexual arousal and activity, not during sleep. These medications require sexual stimulation to be effective and are not intended to impact nocturnal erections.
If you're concerned about your nocturnal erections, it’s worth mentioning that these are typically unrelated to erectile dysfunction and more about your overall health. However, if you're experiencing a lack of nocturnal erections or issues with your erectile function during the day, it could be a sign of an underlying issue that you should discuss with a healthcare professional.
