Vilitra 40 mg contains 40 mg of Vardenafil and is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It works by increasing blood flow to the penis, helping achieve and maintain an erection. However, people with kidney problems should be cautious when using this medication. Who Should Avoid Vilitra 40 mg Due to Kidney Problems: Patients with Severe Kidney Impairment: Those with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) or who are on dialysis should avoid Vilitra 40 mg.

The medication may accumulate in the body, leading to toxicity and increased side effects. Patients with Moderate to Severe Renal Impairment: Those with a creatinine clearance (CrCl) less than 30 mL/min should generally avoid higher doses Vilitra 40 mg . Lower doses (such as 10 mg) might be considered under strict medical supervision. Patients with Reduced Renal Function: If kidney function is moderately reduced (CrCl between 30–50 mL/min), the doctor may suggest a lower dose or adjust the frequency of use. Why Kidney Problems Are a Concern: Vardenafil is metabolized in the liver and excreted through the kidneys.

Impaired kidney function can lead to slower elimination, causing the drug to build up to toxic levels. This may increase the risk of side effects like: Hypotension (low blood pressure) Severe headache or dizziness Vision disturbances Prolonged erection (priapism) Recommendation: Always discuss your kidney health with a healthcare provider before using Vilitra 40 mg. Your doctor may recommend a lower dose or an alternative medication better suited to your condition.
