Stripers- Night time stripers has been excelent leading up to the new moon on monday however the heavy winds and excess water has made Joppa Flatts a little tricky. The Stripers are hitting a little later on the outgoing tide than usual, about two and a half hours after the tide change. Bluefish are mixing in with the stripers but are not in full force yet. The bluefish are being caught at the mouth but not in the deeper waters out front.
I heard word that there have been some mild pogey action in the river however I have not run into them yet.
Cod and Haddock- Old Scantum is holding a lot of cod in the 20lb range, and there are some haddock mixed in. One customer got a 52lb cod out off of Tillies.
Tuna- There is some good Tuna action even though it is still early. Stellwagen has produced a lot of fish in the 60"-65" range. Not much happening on Jeffries Ledge by the curl and Cove but up north at the Narrows some fish have been taken. At this point spreader bars(Black and Pink) and Jigs(Black and purple) seem to be the popular choices but I'm predicting Slug-go's will turn on soon especially on Stellwagen
