The first over 40" Striper of the season that I know about was caught yesterday off the beach using a clam on a slider rig. The striper action is getting ready to turn on and there are already strong bait supplies in the area. a few mackeral showed up most of which are holding a little further offshore and there are tons of sandeels in the are. We went out Ground fishing on Thurs. and killed em as far as numbers go on Old Scantum but our biggest was only 20lbs. The big boys are still holding offshore but hopefully they will start coming in closer
