Crossroads Bait and Tackle Fish Report >
61 lb striper
61 lb striper
Aug 20, 2010
Commercial fisherman Bill Kendrek weighed in a 61Lb striper to sell at Crossroads Bait and Tackle this week. He caught it at 130AM on Joppa. Despite some quiet striper action there are still some big ones left out there. Blues have been chomping eels on the flats and water temps have been pretty cold at certain tides despite the hot weather. The Blues have been in very heavy however the other day we had em all morning with a drop-off in the afternoon.
There was a huge tuna bite bout six miles off shore fishing in 220 to 240ft of water with live whiting. The dogs have been getting worse and worse out there so it made fishing that area very tough today. Most of the tuna guys dispersed and moved north or further out. There is a good chance they will be showing up on Jeffries or The Isle of Shoals withing the next couple of days. Cod and Haddock have stayed strong on Old Scantum and the Curl. there are some dogfish mixed in if you fish bait, however the haddock aren't hitting jigs so gotta fish through the dogs if you want some haddock.
