The freshwater fishing is very active right now. Bass are taking live bait and artificials at the local lakes. Trout are in full effect. As you move further north to a lot of the big lakes ice is still present, and starting to diminsh which will be great for some early season trolling.
I have multiple sources from the party boats who have confirmed that haddock fishing is excellent right now on Jeffreys Ledge. One mate reported each person caught about 16-18 haddock each on a nice slow 2 hour drift by the Prong, and most were keeper size. I plan on taking advantage of this report and heading out on Sunday.
The stripers are working their way up the coast with some great action and size in NY, and there have been schoolie sightings on Cape Cod, hitting small surface plugs and bait.
We are now open 6 days a week and have tons of new gear rolling through the doors.
