Full Swing
Jun 29, 2014
Stripers are in full swing. They are being caught up river later in the incoming tide once the cool ocean water moves in. At the end of the outgoing tide I had a water temp of 73.3F upriver which is way too warm for big fish, however this will drop 10 or more degrees once the cold ocean water moves in and this is when you will get the big stripers. The flats have turned on big time at night with eels, and during the day the mouth is on fire with a lot of action on the outgoing tides. Bait is pretty easy to catch as long as you get out early in the morning with the usual lull later in the day.
