Piles of Bait and Some Bigger Bass Following

The Mackerel are in and hitting hard. We have been able to buy fresh mack's at a much more consistent pace and more volume from some of the local fisherman. There are more bass around that will eat the whole macks too. The river continues to be loaded with small schoolies and still a bunch of micros but keepers are mixing in. Salisbury reservation over by Badgers Rock has produced some big fish and Joppa has been filling up with some larger bass too up tight to the kayak ramp and behind Woodbridge Island.
Tuna Season started a couple days ago and guys are still trying to key in on them from some early season spottings. many of which seem to be inside near halfway hump and southern Jeffries. Northern Jeffries was swarming with porbeagles which were a nuisance for some early season tuna guys but a great sign for the sharking and hopefully it carries right into the Newburyport Shark and Tuna Tourney. If you want to have some fun catch some porbeagles on some light gear, they're like a little mini mako, but don't go too light one angler did catch a 9 footer.
The haddock fishing continues to be very productive, and many anglers are reporting lots of cod and nice size too. They seem to be making a pretty big comeback in this area. The ledge between the cove and the prong has been very productive for a lot of guys this week. Good Luck!
